Got a dual boot system with Win98 and Win2K pro.

Installed Premiere 6. on Win98SE system and worked fine, BUT when installed on Windows 2000 pro I get this error

" Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program E:\Program Files\Adobe\Premiere 6.0\Premiere.exe
Abnormal Program Termination "

Already installed DirectX 8a and reinstalled Full Version of Premier 6.0 again.
also tried installing update files from adobe website but still same error occured.

Has anyone had this error before, I really want to use Win2K instead of using Win98Se because its stability and reliability.

Please help me out

^^

:(

BTW, I am using Swann Firewire card, already updated my Win2k to SP2 before the reinstall.

My system is a P3-800,
2 30G (7k rpm)IBM 75GXP drives,
32Mb GF1 (Geforce256), & SBLive.

I think my hardware is good enough for a simple home DV editing use.

My Premiere 6 installation was uneventful in Win2kpro SP1 (installed SP2 later with no problems).

i would guess the MS C foundation classes are causing a version conflict, check in the directory where you installed it for win98 and compare it to the directory of the w2k install, if there are any missing dlls move them to the w2k dir

pulpp, did that and this time cannot even start Premiere.

Just did the inevitable reinstall of Win2K. :|

Good thing there were not much programs installed. This time, updated Nvidia video driver and installed DirectX8a before installing Premiere. Now it works!!! :), next up updating to SP2. Hopefully nothing will go wrong!
