I recently installed the drivers for my fax modem. Now, whenever he phone rings and my modem is plugged into the phone jack, my computer hangs. No mouse response, can't Ctl+Alt+Del, I just have to reboot. Anyone got any ideas? I don't have any software installed for the modem, just the drivers, and I don't have it set to answer incoming calls. It is a DSI 3635 Modem (DSI is owned by Creative Labs).

I should have clarified a little better. This is when I am not using my modem. I am having this problem when it is disconnected only.

Did u turn on your fax software? Try disabling that. And also, try to disable the "auto answer" function on your modem. You may need to do some AT string programming. Post if U don't know and someone will help you. I don't know the string, but I know it exists.
