win2k pro: administrator defualt PW?

ok, at my bros
networking their pc's
one is win 98 se
the other is win2k pro

done it before, but this time around, the 2kpro box didnt have an administrator account set up with a password, my brother installed it whenever, and was usig a basic all access account or somethin, without having a password

so, not knowing this, i set up networking, and added a user account for my other brother so they can game and share files and the like....but since doing that, only the new account is any good, the old one wont work, he had never supplied a password, so i cant enter one to use his account

and theres no other admin account on his pc

can i do anything to get around this at all without reinstalling and the like?

Check out www.jsiinc.com and then click on their "NT Reghacks" link. Search for "lost administrator password" and you should see a bunch of options. None of them are pretty. Fair warning - if you make a mistake, the box may be toast and you'll need to reinstall the OS from scratch.

considering that all i could personally think of was reinstalling win2k im sure this will be wort trying at, nothing important on the box as it is
