Just installed an ASUS A7M266 with a 1.4Ghz Athlon processor in my Windows 2000 PC.

Wondering what patches I should download and install?

I didn't want to install from the CD, in case the patches were outdated, but want to make sure I'm getting optimal performance.

I visited AMD's site which listed a couple of patches for the AMD 761 chipset. I downloaded those, but most of them said they were unapplicable when I went to install.

I suspect that I may want to install VIA's 4-in-1 patch, but haven't been able to verify that from VIA's site.

Can anyone clue me in?

Thanks!

I have the same setup as you. I installed the AMD AGP Miniport driver from www.amd.com and the Via 4-in-1 Patch version 4.32. Of course I installed all the updates from Windows Update such as the Service Pack 2.

Just be careful you don't install the AGP driver contained in the 4 in 1 driver set.
