Win2k password issues

I unchecked the "users must enter name and password to use computer" box and now when I restart it still prompts me for a name and password but even the correct ones won't work. It says the name or password is wrong.
 
No, I've resigned to a reinstall. It was a new computer so it's no biggie. I think my misake was doing this while not logged in as the administrator.
 
True but I was logged on as a normal user and I did this and killed the system. Actually, I think typo'd when I did the password initially cuz I never could log on as the administrator. Anyways, I had installed it over 98SE to retain some programs on the HD I don't own. This was the perfect excuse do what I wanted to do - partion and fresh install.
