Win2k/P3V4X/MX300 - problem

I'm running win2k, the latest vortex drivers, the latest 4in1s, and have a Diamond Monster MX300 running off an ASUS P3V4X (VIA Apollo Pro 133A).

My sound drops off completely after a short period of playing media. It drops off totally and doesn't come back until I reboot. MP3s don't play correctly.

I know people who've had issues with this combination of hardware and OS but can't make contact with either of them right now, so I'm wondering if anyone here has had the same problem and can tell me how they fixed it.

Actually, since you offered

I've edited the setting to FF, but now wpcrset won't run. It says wpcrset.sys isn't installed, but it is. I don't suppose you hit the same problem...?

Mmmm...no...

Well, did you download it, run the exe file (it basically unzips the files so you can install it), then install it (run the program INSTDD)? If you did, then uninstall it and reinstall it I guess.

I removed it and reinstalled and it's fine now...I just have to work out how to use it
