When i had a P4, I used winXP for HT...but I've always like Win2k better

I am currently setting up an athlon64 system and was wondering if there is a performance benefit in using winxp over win2k with this chip...anyone have any experience?

XP and 2k are going to have the same performance comparatively that they have with any other processor. THe only difference you will see is when they release XP 64 bit edition, which you won't ever see with 2000.

win2k will be retired before xp, just use XP.... or be like one of those idiots that is still running win98 because its "better"

that logic is stupid too...

XP came out ONE year after Win2k.

Win2k works better for me, I was just asking opinions about performance...

Athlon64's feature hardware data execution protection that can be utilized by XP SP2. Great for enhanced security.

Windows XP for a new system. If you have a copy of Win 2000, use it however. If not, buy XP.

A64 will run better on XP SP2 than 2000 SP4, as there is security improvements.
