I recently installed win2k on my Compaq Presario 1200 XL110. Everything worked great except......Win2K was unable to recognize anything plugged into the PCMCIA slot. Does anyone know where I could find a driver that would cause the PCMCIA card services (which shows up fine in Win98) to be available in Win2K. I did contact Compaq and they informed me that they did not support their hardware once a newer operating system was installed onto it. BTW, isn't that like an automobile manufacturer not supporting their product because you put a new tank of gas in?

Thanks in advance,

:D

Did you try looking on Compaq's web site?

I looked, but only found drivers for the touchpad. You can buy a drivers disk for $10 though.

No it would be like purchasing a car lets say a ford 30 years ago with a 302 in it and form fitting a 428 in at your own garage and then driving to the ford dealership expecting to still be under warranty coverage.

Relayer,
Thanks for the help. I was under the impression that the driver disk would just contain the files that are in the softpaqs that are available throught the web site. I'll email them and see. Thanks again.

Assubit,
The computer is less than a year old and it is still under warrnaty. It came with Win98SE and even came with the option to buy WINME for a lower price since it didn't come with it preinstalled. :disgust:
