I just upgraded a system to a new ASUS A7M266 MB and Win2K hangs during
startup. The slide bar is about half way across and doing hardware
validation. I can see the lights going on and off in the KB, mouse, etc. but
then it just hangs and I must do a system reset. Eventually it completes and
the system works flawlessly.
I have noticed that if I put a zip disk into the external USB zip drive it
will start. Is there any way I can fix this to work all the time, without
the zip disk being installed?
One final point is that unless I have media in my zip drive or a Sandisk
USB Compactflash Reader during boot, that they are not present in the
Windows Explorer and I must refresh the system with Add Hardware to see them
when I eventually want to insert media and use them. My office system sees
it's zip drive all the time, with or without media. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance for the help!
