win2k + new tnt2 m64 doesn't want to work in opengl?!

Hi everyone.. after searching I thought I'd just post a new topic..
So I bought a couple tnt2 m64s on e_bay for cheap, to replace the tnt1 I have in my current system (and another for a friend's voodoo2 system hehe). I'm running windows 2000, on a 450a with 192mb ram. I took out the tnt1, and put in the new tnt2 card. It booted up fine, recognized in bios, and the drivers auto-updated themselves. But anything that seems to require ogl doesn't work... quake3.exe crashes with a "making a log of problem" message, Gunman lets me into the menu, but won't let me play the actual opengl game. I updaeted the drivers to the latest reference, but that didn't do anything. I've tried both cards, they both work great in windows until I try to pull opengl.
Oh another reason I'm hypothesizing this is that when I try to run those opengl screensavers, a couple of them crash just the same way that quake3 does.
The card is of unknown brand, it was a system pull.
alright sorry for the fat paragraph, if anyone knows anything or can point me somewhere helpful I'd be greatful 🙂

have you tried some of creative's or elsa's (don't know if they make tnt2 m64's) drivers? evga also has some drivers that might work for what you want, since they are based on the reference drivers.

Install Detonator 3 for Windows 2000. MS doesn't like Open GL so don't expect the built-in driver to have acceptable performance and functionality.

I ended up spazzing and deleting everything and beginning to reformat, so we'll see how this goes. I was using the latest reference drivers previously. thanks for the help though

Sometimes I have found that I need to completely remove all the 'nv*.* files from my Windows dir and sub dirs and then reinstall the detonators. Windows is a bit pathetic the way it will mix up drivers without your knowledge or consent. Of course doing a search for those files and only getting rid of the ones that are video card related, not just doing a blanket delete incase there are some there you need to keep....😀

Well i have it up and running now, took a fresh install to get it working. What a pain, but I guess its better than the old tnt1.
