Win2k networking/sharing question

Easy one, but help a poor linux bouy out. 🙂

I need to remove the need to login to browse my shares (i.e. clicking on my computer name should NOT bring up a login box). I want that to be publically readable, and then do permisions directory by directory (and printer by printer).

The setting to do this does not appear to be readily apparent to me...

Thanks much,

The only way to avoid the login window is to already be logged on to the connecting computer as a user that exists in the w2k user database (and with the same password). Whether a linux box can inform the w2k system of its currently logged on user and password, I don't know, since I haven't yet tried it.

it's another win2k box..

You mean I can't have a publically shared printer available to anyone? For some reason I don't quite believe that, even though I am getting into my "MS must die a horrible death" attitude again. 🙂 I doubt they would be that completely stupid...
