I am getting a little supicious about this packet thing. I am have more sent packets than receive packets. Like 2000 Sent and 1800 receive it always sent more than receive. Anybody please check if you have the same numbers. I remember NT 4 will have less sent than receive and it is much less.

I always have less packets sent than received. I would be concerned if I were you. Someone may have placed a trojan horse on your system which is being used to spy on your system. Run an antivirus to make sure. Download some program to view the number of bytes transmitted from/to your system instead of only monitoring the number of packets. If more bytes is being sent out than being received, you are most likely been hacked. On the other hand, if you are sending less bytes than receiving, the greater number of sent packets may just mean that the packets are lost in transmission and that they are being retransmitted.

well i have like 7,747,141 sent and 7,291,233 recieved. But thats probably beacuse my network is only 10BT on a hub so when there are collisions it has to re send the data. Well that and i do run a DNS, Mail, Web, FTP, database servers from my computer :) just thought i would tell ya what i have so you can compare. Oh and i am 100% SURE i have no trojans :)

Scanned my HD and no virus and called @home. I was told that someone had reported a problem for lost packets and I guess finally someone found out and it has been some weeks. I guess that would explain it.
