In win9x, there is a pull down menu that shows previous usernames used to logon, so that you can select one from the list without typing it fresh. Does anyone know of a way to do this in win2k?

Not sure if there is a way, but the best bet would be look through local security policy.

That wouldn't be very secure so I'd bet MS didn't include that option in either NT4 or 2000. The best you can get is to have the "last" successful login keep it's username in that field.

Absolutly.

Go to:

Admin tools --> Local Security Policy --> Local Policies --> Audit Policy -->

Audit Account Logon Events --> Then check the two boxes for Success and Failure

Use Event Viewer Security log to view the logs

Thanks for the replies. Auditing account logon attempts doesn't help though. I'm just running a computer at home with a few logon accounts and don't want to type the logon names each time. I know that having a pull-down menu would be a security problem, but it's not an issue in this case. Perhaps there's another way to enable this?
