Since i loaded Win2K on my sony vaio laptop (came with WinME) i can't get it to display anything once i close it and reopen it. It seems like it comes out of "sleep" , but the screen stays black. no problem getting it back when it had winME. any ideas?

Maybe turn off power management completely and power down when it's not in use? Just a thought. Other then that, does it display correctly otherwise? Just wondering if it may be a video driver issue...

Not too familiar with the Sony's, but with the Toshiba's, they have an option in the BIOS for the laptop to go to resume when you close the lid. I have seem many problems with resume (same as standby) and hibernation not coming back to the desktop. Now if your W2K is setup to go to hibernation when you close the lid, then you may want to make sure that any options like that are turned off in the BIOS.
If your laptop is set to go into hibernation when you close the lid (W2K setting), then try setting it to standby instead.

Make sure your bios is upgraded....when an external monitor is attached to the system, does it behave exactly the same way?
