I just installed Windows 2000 on this system:

Antec SX1030B Case, 300W PS
AMD Thunderbird 1000 (Blue Core)
Taisol CGK742092 Heatsink
Abit KT7 Motherboard (BIOS UL)
Crucial 512mb PC133 CAS2 (Two 256mb sticks)
IBM 75GXP 45gb 7200 RPM HDD
Seagate 13gb Backup Drive
TDK 12/10/32 VeloCD CD-RW
Teac 40x CD-ROM
Hercules Prophet II MX Video Card
SB Live! X-Gamer (non 5.1) Sound Card
Netgear FA310TX Network Card

I have just CPU, video, and memory in there as well as all my drives, and right after Windows 2000 installed and entered the OS, it gave me a blue screen of death and rebooted. Upon rebooting, it ran scandisk, and entered Windows again. I was at my desktop, then about 45 seconds later, it gives a BSOD and reboots. I never had a problem like this before. Also, everything is at defaults, no overclocking being done. Can someone please help! Thanks!

Also this is a clean install. I formatted my IBM drive and installed. Upon reboot I get these BSOD's.

Assume W2K has a bootlog.txt file? That's what I would be studying to find out why.

I'll try to view it and report back...see if I can check it before it reboots again...

Well I got into Win2k, clicked on my drive in my computer and it pops out a BSOD and reboots. WHAT GIVES!?

Any way to view it in DOS? Where is it located?

EDIT: Is PNP OS supposed to be enabled or disabled in the bios for Win2k?

Uh oh spagetti-o!

Looks like you have a very nice system.

How about boot with only cpu, cdrom, video, 1 hd, ram. Give that a shot?
I would reformat and try to boot with maybe a different os.
Bump the fsb down to underclock, see if that helps. My roomie had dat problem.
Make sure it is not overheating, fan/hs secure working prop.

Good luck my friend.

I have everything running at defaults. There is no overclocking being done, and no modifications of FSB or anything. I'll try running bare minimum on my CPU, RAM, Video, CD-ROM and IBM HDD. Also there is no overheating, as my Taisol HSF is on there and temps are idle at around 34C in the bios. I am reformatting now, gonna try reinstalling Win2k...

Just tried reinstalling Win2k and during setup it gives me a STOP error and says:

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Adress 804189CC base at 80400000, datestamp 384d5a75 - ntoskrnl.exe

ALSO, I received this motherboard as a replacement from The Computer Zone today. Could it be the motherboard? I could tell the board had been used already from the socket marks, but could it be the mobo?

WHAT THE DEAL!?

Now during this install, it gives this BSOD:

Begin dump of physical memory.
Dump of physical memory complete.
Please contact your system administator or tech support group.

This is really pissing me off. I want to grab the machine and throw it out the window. Could the be a defective motherboard? I know everything worked except the motherboard, I sent it back and they sent a used replacement. Any thoughts?

Did you Install the driver for the highpoint raid driver during win2000 setup?

When windows 2000 is Installing It asks you to "Press F6 to specify third raid or scsi controllers" it happens kinda fast so be looking on the bottom of the screen right after you boot off the win2000 cd.Follow the instructions after.

I don't suppose you have access to another mobo? I'd call the place where you bought the mobo and ask them why they sent you a used replacement. If everything worked before you put the "new" mobo in, I'd say it was the mobo. But just to be sure I'd remove all the mobo connections and then reseat them. Including the processor.

Well I basically did everything. I swapped ram, cables, cd-rom, to no avail. Still get BSOD's when trying to install. I am very disappointed over this since I planned to set it up earlier this week so I could use it over vacation. It's almost Thursday and I gotta goto school Monday

All I can say is, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THE COMPUTER ZONE at http://ocz.safeshopper.com. They are the most shady business out there.
