Win2k Kills My PS/2 Keyboard; Win98 Does Not! Please Help!

I recently formatted and installed Win98 and Win2000. The problem I'm having is that in Win2000 Pro about halfway through the Win2000 bootup my ps/2 keyboard dies. I had to go out and buy a USB keyboard so that I can use Win2000. I've tried 3 different ps/2 keyboards to no avail. So I'm dual-booting and dual-keyboarding! I have no problem with either keyboard in Win98.

I've got all the latest updates from MS, and I have SP1 installed, also. I've even formatted and installed Win2000 twice. I've got the latest BIOS for my SE440-BX2 board too. In Device Manager Win2000 shows the ps/2 keyboard as working properly. I tried updating the driver, but that didn't work either. I also tried using different drivers too. Of course, that didn't work either.

Below are two events that I get EVERY TIME I start Win2000. I get one "Warning" event type (which is displayed below), and then I get three "Error" event types. All three of the "error events" are the same, and I posted it below.
One other thing. Sometimes I can unplug the ps/2 keyboard and then plug it back in and Win2000 will recognize it. This doesn't always work, however.

I don't have a ps/2 mouse to try out, but I will go ahead and assume that it won't work either.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Hmm... I just read the thread started by Usul concerning keyboard problem. It sounds oddly familiar to my problem. I didn't see any solutions posted in that thread, though.
