Win2k IRQs

Argo

Lifer
Hi,

For some reason Win2k assigned IRQ 11 to all my devices. Now, I know that I have IRQ 5,10 and 15 available. Is there any way to make win2k use those?

It would appear that you have installed Win2K on a box with an ACPI compliant bios enabled. This is not a problem as a truly ACPI compliant BIOS allows the interrupts to be shared just fine. If, however, you have a motherboard with, shall we say, a less than optimal ACPI implementation, then you would be better off to disable ACPI in the BIOS and do a complete reinstall of Win2K. If it's working, GREAT! Your ACPI implentation for your motherboard is probably adequate. If your getting lockups or endless problems, it may be time to disable it and reinstall. Just my 2 cents worth.....

that is a good question...mine don't share just a couple but they do share in strange share groups!

just like that dude said, only reinstall if it's giving you hassles...if its running perfect...leave it.

if you're bored, and feel like reinstalling, you can always give er a go tho!!
