I updated to Internet Explorer 6.0 thinking it would be a good idea based on what I've heard about it. I do it, and now all my fonts on pages that don't set the font size are HUGE. For instance, all the little buttons above this text box here where I'm writing this message are massive. It's like everything is set to a default font size of 24 or something. As I'm sure you can imagine, this is very annoying. I don't want to reinstall Windows entirely if I don't have to.

If anyone knows where in the registry you can change the default font size, I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me. Also let me know what the default font size is perhaps. I'm thinking 10 or 12.. probably 12.

I went through the registry as extensively as I could looking for it and the only thing I found was a setting where you can force the default font size, color, etc... and when I changed the value for forcing the default font size, everything was MASSIVE. I run at 1024X768 and I don't have problems with my eyes. I tried uninstalling IE 6.0 and going back to 5.0. No luck... same thing there now. So I deleted the setup files for 6.0 and decided to try a fresh download/install. Same results..

I'm down to the wire here. If someone doesn't help me.. I'm going to have to back up and reinstall. I hope I can avoid that with some help from Anandtech. Come on users... point me in the right direction.... thx!

Yeah.. I wish that was the only problem. That will make the text smaller, but it never saves you know? There has to be some setting that I can change somewhere that will make the default to large which should've been the default to begin with from what I've heard so far.

I've got the exact opposite problem as you. I am in XP now but I use to have the problem is win2k also. My fonts are so small that I cannot read whats on the screen. I can change it to Medium but it never remembers. I can see how your problem is annoying also. If you ever find a fix, I'd like to knowbecause it may help me out with my problems.

Same thing happened to me... took me a reinstall to fix it. Luckily, I have a better solution:

Hold down "Ctrl" and move your mouse scroll wheel to adjust the font size.
