Win2k hotfix for VIA 686B ultra ATA 100, anybody have it?

Hi I have big problem with 686B in win2k, if I use VIS latest driver win2k always corrupt whenever I shutdown the computer. If I use older driver the hard drive so slooooowwww.

I heard microsoft released hotfix for this problem but I couldn't get it. HEEELLP!!!

 
Its work for me, Dark thanks A LOT!!!! now I am using win2k again.

Yo2tup, uninstall the VIA driver first reboot and apply the hotfix.
 
Don't forget that ur ATA100 will still be detected as pio but it will run as ata100. This should be fixed in the next patch.
 
Yes it does corrected the corrupt problem and I already read about the bug that showing HD as PIO4.

BTW my hd is alot faster now and doesn't have any problem so fawith win2k.

When I benchmark it wit sisoft sandra I have bigger score than with Win ME.

 
Is this a fix for the large hardrive with 2mb cache that shuts down before it writes back to the system and scatters your registry in win2k that I've looked everywhere for?

Or is this something else?
 
Yea Baby, I'll give it a shot, maybe I'll be able to shut down my computer like a normal person😉
 
Hmmm... coulda also fixed it by installing Win2K, or changing it to standard pc (turning off ACPI)...

Remember all the problems I was having? hehehe...
 
Didn't work for me......
I was installing win2k at least twice a day and still get corrupt harddrive with VIA driver 🙂
If I don't use VIA driver the hard drive is so damn slooow.
