I've installed and reinstalled Win2K but it seems like the OS gets slower and slower the longer it is running.

For example, I'd save some jpg files and it will do it relatively quickly in the beginning but after a while, the it'll take forever to save a file. The same goes for games. I'll play Unreal Tournament and after a while my frame rate will start dropping and I'll start clipping.

This started happening after both my HDD and my optical mouse went bad. I got my new HDD and mouse and reinstalled the OS but I still have the same problems.

could be your MOBO hdd controller. if thge HDD went bad, it mightve gone bad because of the controller itself. try a new mobo and see if that helps.

HDD controller?

Well, the weird thing is that when I look up the HDD properties in control panel, it lists the HDDs as SCSI. I know this is supposedly some bug in Via's drivers but could this have something to do with it?
