Okay, this is a knee-jerk post. Maybe I'm missing something obvious.
I never bothered playing counter-strike since my last reinstall (3 weeks ago). Tonight I try to play, but when I change my system's gamma via the NVIDIA utility, as soon as I load CS it resets to the normal level. I tried setting it by the system tray utility and by going into system properties; no go. After I enter the game and exit to my desktop, it says I'm running at 1.4 (which is what I've changed gamma to) but it's not it. If I click on the slider bar without changing it it changes the gamma back up to 1.4
This is annoying. What am I missing? Never had any problems with previous installs.
T-bird 750@750 / A7V133 / Gladiac GF2 GTS / SBLive 5.1
Running latest DX and using 11.01 Det drivers with "tweaked" refresh rates (75 Hz is now the minimum refresh).
EDIT: Just switched to 7.58 (wanted to do that anyhow) and there's no change.
EDIT2: Screen defaults if any game is run (Tribes2 resets it as well).
