I have file sharing between all win2k machines. On every machine I created the same set of users with the same password (not the same password across the board, but basically the all the users and all the user info is the same for every machine). My assumption was that, when one 2k machine (the client) goes to another 2k machine (the "server"), if the client logged in with a specific user and password, one that the "server" recognizes (that is has a user profile on the "server" machine), I wouldn't have to retype a password every time I try to access a folder. But that is not the case apparently. It seems like when I try to access files on another computer, it always asks me for a password...how do I get rid of that.
Second question. So I tried to access some files on another 2k machine, and it asked for a password to my surprise, so I just retyped my user name and password. Then I decided to go to the "server" machine and change the password for that user. Going back to the client machine, I shut the folder to the server machine and tried to re-access that folder. But now because I originally typed in one password, everytime I tried to access the server machine I guess 2k is so smart to automatically re-enter that old (and now, invalid password). Is there a way for me to refresh the password that my 2k is trying to send to the server machine?
