When I try to do a search for files or folders I get a blank screen. Suggestions? Thanks.

Edit: Woah! On top of that I can't go into Add/Remove programs. I installed IE 6 yesterday and my theory is that it screwed up the OS. I get an error when I try to open Add/Remove programs:

An unexpected error occurred.

OK

That doesn't look good to me. I'm thinking now to restore my previous backup. If that doesn't clear things up, the backup before that. If that doesn't do it, it looks like a clean install of Win2000. Jeez.

Looks like SOMETHING trashed my Win2k registry. Rather than trying to fix it I restored a Ghost backup. I've reinstalled everything (I think) except IE 6. I'm nervous about that. I'm Ghosting again and will then install IE 6 and see what's up. Ideas?

I guess it was my WinNT 4 partition that trashed the Win2k registry. In fact, WinNT seems to think a lot of its components are in the Win2k partition. The WinNt registry refers to the Win2k partition in many cases. Will have to rebuild my WinNT installation and hope for the best.
