it's been happning since last night.
When I turn on the computer I can get to Log in screen no problem
after log-in, nothing happens.
I can press ctrl+alt+del and go to start new task, and load explore.exe
and computer starts as normal.
what's going on?

Hmm sounds like you don't have a shell selected...

Now in Win2k I think this is where you need to go.

Open regedit and find this key.
HKey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Then in there, there should be a data named shell. Make sure it says explorer.exe

I know that is how to change it in NT but not to sure about 2k becuase I just looked at my XP box and its not the same....
