Win2k + EPoX 8HKA+ + IBM 65 GXP + ATA 100?

What gives here guys... I setup my newest rig:

Athlon XP 1600
EPoX 8HKA+
256MB Crucial DDR 2100
IBM Deskstar 40GB ATA/100
Western Digital 20GB ATA/100
64MB Radeon DDR VIVO

etc etc... wel.. im running Sandra to make myself feel all ooey gooey inside for upgrading from a athlon 750 asus k7v... and well part of the reason I was so excited was that I was actually going to have a motherboard that supported my two ata 100 drives! Well they are set to MODE 5 in the bios but when I run the benchmarks in Sandra the preformance is very much well... total ass

I found a knowledge base article on the M$ site about a flaw in ATA100 in win2k applied the patch and SP2 with still sub par Disk Performance... any ideas my homies?

off topic - also looking for recommended BIOS settings for EPoX mobo

Did you verify that you are running in UDMA mode? Hate to recommend any other solutions if thats all it is. Check it out in Device Manager under the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers section and check each channel.

well right now my main hard drive is ata/100 (udma5 for sure).. and the sandra marks come out almost equal to the refrence mark for the RAID0 ATA100 drive... bleh.. Im probably just being stingy.. pay no attention to me.. i go to sleep now...
