Problem: after win2k install, sound works, but mic doesnt work... and i use skype/vent/voicechat alot
Card: Ensoniq AudioPCI (ES1371)
The Driver Win2k Makes Me Use: Creative AudioPCI (ES1370), SB PCI 64/128 (WDM)
Now, the Creative site has a driver, listed as compatable for win95/98/me/2k/xp, and it worked perfectly in win98SE... but i've moved to win2k now that i have a proper CPU/mobo.
Anyways... My mic stopped working. I fiddle with the volume/record controls and nothing.
The Creative drivers wont let me install because it says i dont have a compatable audio card (funny, because its the same 'incompatable' card that worked fine just yesterday, with the very same drivers i'm trying... =P
Win2k came with another driver labeled for ES1371 (the card i have) but when i force windows to use that, by manualy selecting it from the list, windows will NOT boot, it sits at the loading screen about 60%.
I have NO clue why it thinks i have a es1370... i know i have a 1371 because 'lspci' in linux says so, plus it says so right on the card...
I extracted the drivers from the .exe from creative's installer and tried them manualy, ("Have Disk" button) but same problem... wouldent boot...
Anyone know how to get the Ensoniq AudioPCI / ES1371 working in windows 2000?
