Win2k dual boot

I have win2k and win98SE on a dualboot configuration in two partitions on a single drive. Can I just uninstall win98 and install winME without having to format the whole disk?

I'd appreciate very much anyd info on this. Thanks in advance.

If the winme install destroys your w2k boot, which it will surely do if you format the win9x drive, and may well do even if you don't format, just open w2k Recovery Console and run "fixboot".

ok...I'll just format the whole thing anyway...I'll backup whatever I have and start from scratch...
Thanks for the help!

Just use 'setup /ntldr' when installing ME so that it won't destroy the NT boot loader. However, if you install to the same \Windows directory as Win98, it will try to upgrade instead of a fresh install.
