Win2k Drivers for Aureal SQ2500 sound card

Does anyone know where i can find these? or can you send me ones that you know work?

It seems to install fine, but no sound plays. When i go to the Aureal icon in control panel, it says unable to open driver for device.

it sounds like u tried installing the win9x VxD drivers in Win2k...it doesn't work...

uninstall any trace of them...it places various files (i.e. the a3dapi.dll) into system directories used by games...

i say this because the native WDM drivers in win2k dont' come w/ the aureal tray utility or icons...

make sure u install the drivers as specified on the download page...

i downloaded
wdm5_12_01_2559.exe
and extracted it
now which exe do i run? and is it supposed to visually do anything?

this is where i seem to be having the trouble.

is it like an installation program? or do i need to do 'add new hardware' and point it to that directory?

read the doc's. it's a pain in the ass to install, but it works... sorta... no games will use a3d, but i have my optical out (note, just sound, dts data for dvd and such don't work)

u don't run any of the executables...

like i said, read the instructions on the download page where u downloaded it from...or there's a .doc file contained in the zip that gives u the same instructions...

right click on "My Computer" and go to Device Manager. Find the sound card, choose properties, choose "Update Driver" and select the folder that you unzipped the files, there is an .inf file in there, select it and you are done. Well, you should be, at least.

o well, i just got a lower version A3D card to work in like 1 second so i'm gona sell the SQ2500
