Win2k Driver help?

I am thinking of install ing Win2K on my machine and ditching Win98se. My problem is I have an Aureal Vortex I PCI sound card and I can't seem to find any Win2K drivers for it. It's not supported on the Win2K website and Aureal is out of business. Down anyone know if they have Win2K drivers for this card or if it will work In win2K??

Thanks

W2K has reference drivers that will handle your chipset. I have never evaluated performance or anything on them. I know for a fact that the Vortex 2 on the TBS Montego is handled natively by the OS.

Please take some advice if you do any type of 3D gaming. DO NOT install DX 8. If your games still crash with DX 7 please post it on this forum so we can try to figure out another plan. Thx

blackflag yeah use the drivers right in 2k. I did but whn I reboot the sound was gone? dam 2k. Just thought i would share this 😉

I sold my vortex soundcard to the first person who gave me $20 for it, the drivers BITE, go with SB live Value for $40, great driver support and sounds great in win2k!

I am gonna give it a shot and install Win98 and Wink2K in a dual boot tommorow. I have tried the Vortex of Sound site, but the Win2K drivers point to the old Aureal site. The link is no good. Thanks for the direct X advise. If I find anything strange or great, I will post it here.😀

Yeah, that sucks that they link to the old Aureal site which appears to be down for good. I may have them at home in which case I could set them up on an FTP server for you, so let me check when I get home this PM.
