Win2K Domain problems

I use a laptop at work w/2K. At our office it is set up as a member of a domain - to work w/DHCP. I have to move around to different locations and when doing so I have to set a static IP and change the gateway. On return to my office when I change back the gateway and back to DHCP, I have to rejoin the domain-it puts me back in a work group.
In system properties I have to go back into network ID and reconnect to the network and in properties it puts me back in a workgroup and I have to change back to a domain. No changes are made to these settings when I move around, just to the IP and gateway.
It is just a pain....a few other people are having the same problems and I'm curious if this is me(lack of knowledge or incorrect settings)or a "know problem".

TIA

I think you just have to "make a new connection" in Settings>Network and Dialup Connections. Put whatever settings you need for each different connection you need and just connect with the appropriate setup. I have a backup dialup connection in case my dsl goes down and that works fine.
