Win2k doesn't "work" with USB.

All of my BIOS settings are correct, I believe.

Basically, the problem is, whenever I have a USb device installed, it works for a while, and windows installs the correct drivers for it.

But after a while, the device just... stops working, and windows give me a wonderful error saying "Driver installation failed because no driver was specified"! The only way to fix this is by restarting, and this happens both with my Logitech Optical mouse, and a generic USB gamepad I just bought.

Apparently, when I mess with the device and try install whatever drivers win2k suggests, it thinks whatever's plugged in is a USB hub. Go figure.

Does anyone know how to get USB working correctly? I'm running vis 4in1's 4.32, and the USB filters are installed.

What version of 2k?

It might be that those devices require a special driver given to you by the company. Try using the drivers off the disks that came with those perhipials, instead of the generic window's drivers. It will save you a headache in the long run. If you dont have the drivers, go to their website and download them. It may be that windows isnt capable of handling all aspects of the device with a generic driver, and it quits out on you.

Ok, that's possible, but the problem actually happened with my Logitech Mouse, even after I had installed the drivers for it.

And when I look at the properties for the gamepad before it messes up, Win2k even detects that it's an Interact brand gamepad, so I don't think it's using strictly generic drivers. Your mentioning which version of win2k actually got me thinking.

I don't think I ever installed sp2 on this new install. (Reinstalled a week ago).
