win2k doesn't shut down!!!

I have tried editing the registry but nothing seems to work, when i go to shutdown , it goes out of win2k and just sits there w/ a black screen.

any sugguestions?
 
hmm.. try the repair install on the 2k cd..

i am having a problem like this in standby.. and it came out to be my monitor.. ( well hopefully!)
