Win2K Doesn't See Floppy

Dual booting Win2K-SP2 and Win98. Win98 sees and reads the floppy drive, but Win2K doesn't. Went through the uninstall-reinstall routine, and I get the error message: "This device is not configured correctly." The flpydisk.sys and .inf files seem to be where they should be. Nothing special about the floppy drive installation, hardware-wise. BX motherboard. Any help much appreciated. I am fairly well acquainted with NT, having used it since ver. 3.5.
