win2k doesnt like overclocking???

i have a 1.4 tbird, i have a dual boot system set up (98se, win2k). i went to overclock the processor and it works on the 98 side running at 1.533 (133 X 11.5) but when win2k fires up it freezes at the detecting network settings screen (before i even log in). any ideas???

Maybe it's ur NIC...i'm OCing happily with my win2k and had more problems on ME. So i put XP to replace ME and i'm not having any problems...it could be that your system is stable or you have a bottleneck somewhere...thinking that it occurs @ your detecting network settings...it may be your NIC...but i could be wrong. What kind of NIC do you have anyways? What is your vcore @?

try pulling the NIC and see what happens. No problems w/ win2K when I OC, though I don't use win98 on that machine.

I had the same thing - my PII 233 went up to 350 without and stability probs under 9x, but in 2k it would only go up to 300. in Me now and its 350 again!! go figure...
