Win2K DMA and VIA chipsets

I recently bought a MSI K7T Turbo Motherboard for my new computer, this being my first venture into the world of VIA chipsets, I'm not sure if my computer is running at it's full potential. Before I installed the VIA drivers, I had two regular IDE channels in my device listing. I could check the properties for these and change the mode from "DMA if available" and PIO. After installing the VIA drivers I have the VIA bus master, and two "VIA BM IDE channels". None of these two allow me to change between DMA and PIO, in fact, I can't even see what mode they are running. So my question is this: does the VIA channels always use DMA if available, and is there any way to check what they are using? I have a Deskstar 60GXP HDD, so that shouldn't be a problem.

hmm,, not exactly sure, but i think Win2k automatically enables DMA.. if it doesn't may-b the VIA 4->1's do..

I'm pretty sure the VIA 4 in 1's do, I just set up 3 duron servers for my test lab with VIA mobo's, and they were slow as hell. As soon as I put the 4 in 1's in speed increased drastically. Almost night and day.
