I just upgraded to Win2K from 98SE and I no longer can get a Digital out signal from my sound card when playing a DVD

Here is my setup:
Guillemot Maxi Sound Fortissimo Sound Card (newest drivers)
Windows 2000 Pro w/SP1
PowerDVD 2.55
Pioneer DVD-ROM DVD-105S
P-III 700
128MB PC100 Micron SDRAM

I have also tried using Yamaha's drivers but same they don't work either. PowerDVD just doesn't detect the SPDIF output anymore.

Has anyone else run into this??

You can enable it from your CD-ROM drive properties.

Control Panel -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager -> Properties for CD-ROM Disk -> Properties tab -> check the box at bottom

Your sound driver doesn't support SPDIF out in Win2k. It's the same situation with Creative Live. May be SPDIF and Dolby 5.1 digital out will be supported by the new Creative Platinum 5.1.
