win2k customizing

ok, i'm new to win2k. i've come over from win98 and Me. i'm just wondering how (if possible) i could set up win2k so that there is only ONE user (i'm the only one that uses the comp), and so that it won't ask me for the password each time.

i've heard it's possible, but i dunno how. any help would be appreciated. thanks

I don't have win2k in front of me right now, but there should be an option in the users section of the Control Panel. Look for a box that says require users to log on before using the computer, or something to the like of that.

cool, thanks

does anyone konw if there is any way to set up win2k so that under the start menu stuff, there is only one folder instead of multiple folders? or would that be taken care of if i just set up one user?

Delusion2001, if you didn't find out about the users just click start.. settings.. control panel.. users and passwords.. and take the check mark out of the box.. what do you mean about the folders? Like instead of Quake II, Half-Life, Quake III, Counter-Strike, you just have Games and those beneath? Or do you mean so that there is only one set up for all users?

Try this.....right click the start button and select the "Explore All Users" option. Now arrange the folders however you like them and I believe that will take care of it for every user.
