Win2k + CUSL2 performance

I am getting REALLY bad disk performance with this setup in Win2k. My HDD is constantly getting thrashed, and everything is much more sluggish than expected. Anybody got this working on a decent performance level?

I have been running Win2k PRO and AS on a CUSL2, since the board was released, with NO performance problems except when I used the Intel beta drivers with a CD burner, use the HOTFIX I posted a week ago to fix the ATA 100 problem, did you reinstall the OS or is this the first install on the CUSL2? or did you just change MB's and let win2k figure everything out? Make sure you have the latest drivers, go to Here for the latest driver links.

Actually I'm dual booting Win2k/Win98se, but Win2k is on its own separate partition. I've tried the ATA66 fix and even the ATA100 hotfix I saw on www.3dspotlight.com, all to no avail. I still get a LOT of disk thrashing, even when performing simple tasks. The 815e drivers are installed, but I haven't installed the Intel ATA100 drivers since I hear they actually do more harm than good.
