the ASUS CUBX boards have this nifty feature that forces you to plug your HDD into a UDMA 33 channel in order to install new operating systems and then after doing so you just switch the HDD over to the UDMA 66 channel for UDMA 66 performance. this was fine and dandy when win98 was my OS but now that i have "upgraded" to win2k this will not work. like i said previously, the board will not let you install a new OS on the UDMA 66 channels and when i install win2k through the UDMA 33 channel it will always look for the HDD on that first UDMA 33 channel under which the OS was installed through and only there even though i have switched the HDD out to a UDMA 66 channel and is no longer plugged in a UDMA 33 channel. how can i go in and tell the MBR to look for the HD on the UDMA 66 rather than on the UDMA 33 and how do i even find out what the address is for the current UDMA 33 channel and the UDMA 66 channel i want to switch it to in the first place? (hda1, hda3, hde3, hde5, etc.)
i hope i'm making some sense.
thanks for any help you can give me.
