Win2K cdrw help needed. Please read

I'm using a plextor 121032a.

I'm hearing that sometimes you have to disable the disconnect property. How do i do this? someone please help me. Thanks.

PS it's crashed my system several times. I also need help on how to enable or disable dma for drives. specifically cd drives. also, for a kt7 raid mobo what are the propper dma settings or disconnect settings for a kenwood 72x and a plextor cdrw.

Wow, you have a lot of questions. Well, I can tell you how to enable DMA access for your ide ports.
1) right-click on the My Computer icon on your desktop
- or Admin Tools (within the Control Panel if you don't have it appearing in your Start menu on its own)
2) on the Hardware tab, click on the [Device Manager] button
3)expand "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers", and look at the properties for both your Primary and Secondary IDE Channels separately
4) within the Advanced Settings tab, set the Transfer Mode to "DMA if available" for Device 0 and Device 1, then click [OK}
You'll have to reboot.
