Win2K + CDROM = SCSI?

I've got an IDE CDROM and an IDE burner. Both of which, however, are identified as "SCSI" devices under the Win2k device manager. Anyone have a clue as to why that is?

I'm running the VIA 4in1 4.28 drivers..

If they are connected through any sort of external controller (HPT, Promise, etc...) then w2k/XP will identify them as being SCSI.
