Win2k BSOD w/ classpnp.sys & Promise Ultra 100 controller

I started getting a BSOD after installing SP2 on Win2k Pro. It didn't happen when I booted into WinXP beta 2 (dual boot). I read somewhere else that it is related to the controller card, so I put the HDD on the MB (KK266) controller which seems to work fine. However, I want to use the faster Promise controller. Anyone else who is getting Blue Screen of Death errors seeing a reference to the classpnp.sys file? Anyone know what causes this and how to fix it? Thanks in advance for any info. See:

for where I read it is the controller that is the problem.
