Sometimes when I start win2k, my burners' (Teac CDR 55) LED in <on> permanently. If I insert a cd or CDR it isn't recognized. I have no hardware conflicts in device manager. After a few reboots my burner works fine again. (?!?) Under NT 4.0 had no problems at all.
My Teac is connected to a Tekram 390F controller along with a Plextor UltraPlex40X. I dunno how to get rid of this problem :(
I have the latest drivers for the Tekram and the newest bios for the Teac drive. Currently I haven't Sp1 for Win2k installed.
Sometimes in the Event Viewer there is an error reported like: bad block found on scsi device 0 ... although I have no media inserted.

Can anyone help me with this?

usually scsi device 0 is the scsi card.... after that i'd make sure all the connections are tight and termination is set correctly.

No: my device 0 is the teac burner, but the strange thing is, that under NT 4.0 all worked perfectly, and I haven't changed hardware since then.

normally the default ID for the scsi card is 7.
is there a difference between ID & scsi device number? :frown:

One thing that could be the problem, I have noticed that Bootable SCSI drives use Device 0. I wonder if 2k is thinking that and getting an error? Just a thought. I never set my CDROM drives to deivce 0 but 1-6. Don't know if that is the problem or not. Funny it did not have problems with the same settings under NT since there are a lot of similarities between 2k and NT.
