Win2k Boot Problem

Hey guys,
A friend of mine brought over his laptop - has win2k pro loaded on it and right now whenever we try to boot it hangs at the win2k screen and restarts after about 5 minutes. I went into safemode and we cant boot either - so then i go to last known good config....still no luck, well i went into safe mode with command it i noticed that it was hanging at agp440.sys

I tried to do a repair install of win2k but no luck so far its still hanging at agp440.sys.

any advice? ideas? of what i could do?

More than likely it is not AGP440.sys that is causing the problem.

You may want to try reseating the RAM and setting the 'Plug'n Pray OS'
option in the BIOS to 'YES'.

Seen this problem many times on Sony Vaio's and HP's (every flavor).
It has corrected the problem 90% of the time.

To answer your question in your PM (you need to enable recieving PM's for replies in your Profile).

To reseat the RAM Module, move it and reinstall it very carefully.
You did not mention a Brand or model, so I really can't help you
more than that without knowing.

Unless it is some obsure Laptop, there should be an OPTION to enable
PLUG & PLAY OS.
