Win2K Annoyance...Please help!

About a week ago I started having a weird problem. Every so often my computer just seems to freeze for about a minute. I can move my mouse around and everything but can't open any programs. I can hear that my hard drive is being accessed, it makes alot of noise like when you open a program. Does anyone else have the same problem?
 
Did you look in the event log? MyComputer/Manage/EventViewer/Application and /System. See if anything was happening at the time.

I had a similar situation, and the log was telling me about disk errors while paging. In plain words, the disk was dying!
