Win2k and sound

Hey. Here is an interesting that I have for you. Has anyone out there experienced their sound card skipping every 4-5 seconds when playing any sound from any program? I have just recently reformatted my system (to get rid of a lot of junk on my system, and besides it needed it), and now I have this problem. I have tried using the manufacturer of the laptops drivers, and also the vendor's driver. BTW, it is a Yamaha DX-1S PCI card that is built in. I have looked at the codec drivers Windows 2000 has installed.

BTW, it worked flawlessly before I reformatted my system. I need to know if this might be a problem with the actual card, or a driver. Remember that I can replicate the problem from any program playing any type of sound. :|

Thanks,

I SOLVED MY PROBLEM!!!!!!!!

Fo anyone out there who would like to know the answer, it is the IR port. For some reason, it would cause a CPU spike avery 4-5 seconds searching for an IR device. Toshiba has updated drivers that they say will fix the issue.

I just disabled the device and now the sound works fine!!!!!
