Win2K and DX5?

Sorry if this question has been answered but my computer just went haywire last week.

It was a dual boot 98/2K system. When I reinstalled the operating systems Win2K is listed as using DX5. I try to install DX7a and 7 but it says this version of Windows cannot support DX7.

Any ideas?

that's very unusual because Win 2000 comes with Direct X 7...

yeah..you sure you were'nt looking at the dx version in 98. win2000 ships with dx7.

I don't even think this is a DX5 version for NT.
