well my friend wants to use windows 2000 professional with his bp6 and dual celerons and tnt2 ultra. BUt he says that he cannot use win2k because the video drivers for win2k do not work properly for dual smp processors. Is there anyway around this??? Anyone out there using win2k with dual celly's and a nvidia card with good performance???? Thanks

I am currently running a dual cel 500 on a 694DPro and a geforce 256ddr, works like a champ with either the asus drivers for my card or the nvidia drivers. just make sure you get the latest via drivers and you shouldn't have a problem.

He has a abit bp6 dual celeron 400 something. anyone know what drivers he can use for his video card that will utilize both his celerons??

Not sure what extra performance dual cpus will give a video card. Most of todays video cards do most of the work themselves.

I have win2K running just fine on a bp6 with dual 533 cels. No problems with video, although I don't have an nvidia card.

Win2K will use both CPUs and the video driver really shouldn't care. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see the problem.

... by the way, some BP6es were made with insufficient voltage regulator and capacitor for proper memory bus termination, so that if you stress the memory bus with heavy load (as with large file graphics editing) everything suddenly comes to an abrupt halt. To learn more (including how to check your BP6) suggest you go to http://www.bp6.com/Forum/ and do a search on "Photoshop Stress Test".
