Win2k and drivers.. simple question... via KT266a board

I need help with drivers and finding them. I got a VIA kt 266a board and was wondering if there were win2k drivers for it or is it in all 4in1 drivers? and what about the hdd.. will i need drivers for them for optimal performance or is whats there good enough?? next, i got a sound blaster live value card and was wondering if i should use the drivers on disk or try to find some at there site??

The 4in1 drivers (or Hyperion) contains the drivers for all components of the chipset, for all supported OSes, including Win2k. You generally don't need to download separate drivers. The IDE drivers included in Hyperion will also be somewhat more optimized than the Windows default, so you'd want to install them with the main driver installation process.

You should probably download the latest driver version from Creative for the sound card. Creative has so many problems with drivers and compatibility, they're always fixing bugs. It's not hard to get the drivers.

yeah i know it say that its for all OS's but for some reason im getting a stop error?? thought there might be different ones... what do i do now??

You're getting a stop error (blue screen) in Windows after having installed the drivers? Did you install the Creative drivers at the same time you installed the VIA drivers? When does it happen?

You might try using the previous version of the drivers as well.

yeah.. i installed the SB drivers first so i could do some video editing. i mean comp works fine with out them but u know.. extra performance wouldnt hurt..

i also tried a previous version and same thing. Do you think i should uninstall the sb drivers first? Then the install 4in1 then sb??..


i basically installed all drivers before i did the 4in1, because thats the only one i was worried about.
