Win2k and Digital Sound Through Santa Cruz

I am trying to get the digital sound out of my santa cruz to my reciever, and I can't get it to work. I have the newest drivers, SP2 and the right connections. If anyone has any ideas, it would be a great help.

I couldn't get it to work with the newest drivers, try the ones on the disc, mine is a sonic fury (Euro SC) so the drivers will be different. Is your cable ok for digital have u tried it with a dvd player or anything?

Digital out seems to be very tempermental.

Hope that helps

Yeah, I have the right digital cable, and I have it going to my dolby digital receiver. It worked fine with win98se, just know I am having this problem.

Have you got the right end in the amp baring in mind RED is DD/dts and WHITE is a PCM encoded version of the standard line out?

Everything is hooked up just like I did with win98se, so I know it is not the connection throwing it off, it all worked before, I have the digital cable going from the digital out of the sound card (running through an adapter piece) to the digital in on the receiver. Same as with 98, so I don't have any idea what is going on.

Did you try a search in the forum? I'm fairly sure I saw a post about a similar problem. I don't use my digital out on my santa cruz, so I can't help much. Did you try checking for updated drivers?

i did a search, and All I came up with was this post, which I posted last thursday. I have analog sound, but i can't get any digital sound. I have all the connections the same way I did when I had win98se, digital coax, with a 1/8 adapter, coming out of the versa jack, going to the input digital on my reciever.

The Win2K drivers for the SC appear to be a bit iffy. Lately I've noticed that when I've got some heavy HD activity going on, and a dialog box pops up, the sound that accompanies the dialog box has very very noticeable SCRATCHING in the background. In addition, I've found that 4-speaker downmixing of DD5.1 streams is broken, at least for both PowerDVD 3 and WinDVD 2.3 - both of which are actually fine in Win98SE.

What would be really nice is if someone hacked the GTXP Win2K drivers so they worked on an SC. 😉
